So, as you have all heard today Justin Verlander was traded from the Detroit Tigers to the Houston Astros. We really like this move for both Verlander and the Houston Astros. The team with the best record in the American League just received a major reinforcement. In 28 starts this season, Verlander is 10-8 with a 3.82 ERA. Since May 30, Verlander has a 3.24 ERA with 118 strikeouts in 111 innings. These are the top 5 reasons we really like this move.

1. Justin Verlander needed a change of scenery. There were a couple instances with run ins with teammates which amounted to tension and fustrstion for both Verlander and the Tigers organization. Now, Verlander can get a fresh start.

2. The Astros are first in the American league and it bolsters their rotation moving to the end of the season and postseason.

3. Verlander deserves a World Series and he has a legitimate chance to win with the Houston Astros in 2017.

4. The Astros have their first top of the line ace since Roger Clemens. We also believe that Justin Verlander has some of the best pitching mechanics in the game like Clemens so he should stay healthy until he retires.

5. The Detroit Tigers can move on and focus on rebuilding. We feel some other immediate moves need to be made. Between drafts, trades and development of young talent they can possibly contend in 5 years.
